Elizabeth Wellenstein has been a hand knitter for the past 20 years. She has published knitting books and also patterns under her own Kinderknits label.
Inspiration for much of her work comes from northern European knitting traditions. Elizabeth currently teaches classes at Lakeside Fibers in Madison, WI and has classes scheduled at the Mill. See Calendar for details.
She attributes her love of knitting to a talented knitting mother and grandmother. She lives with her husband and 3 children in Madison, WI.
Here is Elizabeth at the spinner - turning a roving into a single ply. The building had been the Wenger building, and we preserved the sign in the backroom.
If you stare earnestly at the spinner, all goes well!
